The Can Man of Elizabethton, TN

The Can Man is, just to be perfectly honest, a really dirt looking dude that looks to be pushing 70 years old who anyone that visits the main strip of Elizabethton, TN will see roaming around somewhere. He stands about 6'6 and has a ZZ Topp beard and has a "Pigpen cloud" (yes, from Peanuts) that follows him around. He always has a huge green sack hanging over his right shoulder full of cans to recycle...this sack looks a lot like the one Jake "The Snake" Roberts used to carry with him on the way to the wrestling ring.

As with many other people of his ilk, the Can Man is saidto be the richest man in town. I don't buy it, however...he is just a hometown tale.
